InkWeave™ Inkjet Fabric Pretreatment
Turn Ordinary Fabric Into Printable Fabric
Print on fabric. Wash it. Keep the print.
InkWeave™ changes what you can do with an ordinary home inkjet printer.
Treat your fabric with InkWeave™, allow it to dry, prepare it for your printer and print directly onto the fabric.
Photographs. Artwork. Illustrations. Patterns. Names. Text. Quilt blocks. Book-cover designs.
Once printed, the design stays on the fabric through washing, giving you permanent printed fabric that can be used in your sewing, quilting, bookbinding and craft projects.
No specialised textile printer is required.
What Does InkWeave™ Do?
InkWeave™ is a fabric pretreatment that turns suitable ordinary fabric into inkjet-printable fabric.
Instead of being limited to commercially printed textiles, you can create the design you want and print it yourself.
The process is simple:
TREAT → DRY → PRINT → CREATE
Once your fabric is treated and completely dry, temporarily back it so that it can travel through your inkjet printer, print your design and remove the backing.
Your printed fabric is then ready to become part of your project.
Washable, Permanent Prints
InkWeave™ isn't simply for creating decorative fabric that must be kept away from water.
It's made for fabric that will actually be used.
In our product testing, InkWeave™-treated fabric prints have been put through four complete washing-machine cycles, with the prints remaining on the fabric.
That makes InkWeave™ suitable for projects where washable printed fabric matters.
Design Your Own Fabric at Home
You don't have to search for fabric with the right print anymore.
Create it.
Use your own:
Photographs • Digital artwork • Illustrations • Repeating patterns • Florals • Graphics • Text • Names • Dates • Logos • Vintage artwork • Children's artwork • Custom designs
Then print them onto your own fabric.
Every sheet can be different.
Every project can be completely personal.
Perfect for Quilters
InkWeave™ opens up an entirely new way to personalise quilting and patchwork.

Suitable Fabrics
InkWeave™ is designed for:
100% Cotton
Linen
Poly-Cotton
Suitable natural fabrics
Different fabrics, inks and printers can produce different colour characteristics, so we recommend making a small test print when using a new fabric or printer/ink combination.
How to Use InkWeave™
1. Pre-Wash Your Fabric
Pre-wash your fabric without fabric softener and allow it to dry.
This removes finishes and residues that may be present on new fabric.
2. Put On Gloves
Wear suitable protective gloves when handling InkWeave™ and wet treated fabric.
3. Treat Your Fabric
Pour enough InkWeave™ into a clean container to allow your fabric to become completely wet.
Place the fabric into InkWeave™ and soak for approximately 5–10 minutes.
Make sure the entire piece has been treated.
4. Remove and Dry
Remove the fabric from the treatment solution.
Do not rinse.
Allow the fabric to dry completely.
You may also iron the fabric dry using a temperature appropriate for your chosen fabric.
5. Save the Remaining InkWeave™
Don't throw away the remaining treatment solution.
Clean, uncontaminated InkWeave™ left in your treatment container can be saved and used again.
Transfer the remaining treatment into a clean, clearly labelled container with a tightly fitting lid and store it according to the product storage instructions.
For cleanliness and product integrity, do not pour used treatment solution back into your original InkWeave™ bottle.
6. Back Your Fabric for Printing
Fabric needs temporary support to travel through an inkjet printer.
Attach the completely dry treated fabric securely to a suitable removable backing.
Make sure the finished sheet is:
Flat • Secure • Accurately trimmed • Free from loose threads and edges
The backing is only there to support the fabric while it travels through the printer and can be removed afterwards.
7. Print
Load the prepared fabric into your compatible inkjet printer and print your design.
8. Remove the Backing & Create
Remove the temporary backing.
Your custom printed fabric is now ready to become part of your quilting, sewing, bookbinding or craft project.
Don't Throw Away What's Left
One treatment doesn't necessarily mean one use of the liquid.
You only need enough InkWeave™ in your treatment container to thoroughly wet the fabric.
When you're finished treating your fabric, clean remaining treatment solution can be saved for another treatment session rather than discarded.
Store it in a clean, labelled, tightly sealed container until you're ready to create again.
This allows you to get more use from your 300 ml bottle.
Do I Need a Special Printer?
No specialised textile printer is required.
InkWeave™ is designed to allow prepared fabric to be printed using a compatible home inkjet printer.
Always check that the thickness and construction of your prepared fabric sheet are suitable for your particular printer before feeding it through.
InkWeave™ is not intended for laser printers.
Does InkWeave™ Make Fabric Hard or Stiff?
No.
The temporary backing provides the structure required while printing and is removed afterwards.
Your fabric remains flexible for sewing and crafting.
What Can You Print?
If your inkjet printer can print the image, you can bring that creativity to fabric.
Print a photograph of someone special for a memory quilt.
Turn a child's drawing into a fabric keepsake.
Design an entire collection of coordinating quilt fabrics.
Create personalised book cloth for a handmade journal.
Print names and dates for a wedding or baby quilt.
Create fabric labels for handmade projects.
Print artwork that exists nowhere else.
InkWeave™ puts custom fabric printing in the hands of the maker.
